Sonae Imobiliária launches "Dos Mares" in Múrcia

 Investment reaches € 35,2 million  The new centre will have a 24 000 m2 GLA

Sonae Imobiliária will build, together with Grupo Eroski, shopping and leisure centre "Dos Mares", a development located between the Spanish towns of San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar, in Múrcia. 

Scheduled to be inaugurated in the Spring of 2004, the "Dos Mares" represents an investment of € 35,2 million, 65% Sonae Imobiliária's responsibility and the other 35% from Grupo Eroski, a Spanish company that leads the local food supply business.

Shopping and Leisure Centre "Dos Mares" will make available a Gross Lettable Area (GLA) of 24 000 m2 for 7 anchor shops, including an Eroski hypermarket, a cinema complex with 8 theatres, 15 restaurants and 73 other shops. This project will allow for the creation of 850 new direct jobs.

Serving a region with 73.000 inhabitants less than 20 minutes away, the new development was designed so as to recreate the Mediterranean ambience, through the use of colours, materials and the predominance of natural lighting.

Sales and management of the "Dos Mares" will also be Sonae Imobiliária's responsibility, in this case through its Spanish subsidiary Consultoria de Centros Comerciales (CCC).

Sonae Imobiliária has been intensifying its investment in the Spanish market under its strategy of continued internationalisation, and co-owns 6 shopping centres in this country today, also being involved in the development of 6 more.
